The reason analysis of abnormal abrasion and solution for bucket elevator
Chain bucket elevator is a type of bucket elevator,the traction component is chain,so it was named chain bucket elevator,during working,there will be happened abrasion between the chain and chain wheel,it is normal phenomenon,but the complex working environment will lead to abnormal abrasion,this abnormal abrasion will reduce the service life of chain and chain wheel,indirectly lead to increased the maintenance cost,below article will make analysis and solution for abnormal abrasion.
1.The parallel degree error between head wheel shaft and tail wheel shaft is too large
Theoretically the head shaft and tail shaft are absolute parallel,but due to the processing accuracy error,installation accuracy error,there will be parallel error between head shaft and tail shaft,objectively speaking,this error is allowed to exist,but make it to be minimum,if the error is to large,the head wheel and tail wheel will happened to malposition,then the chain will produce uneven force to the chain wheel,in this condition, the wheel teeth will bearing the abnormal force,then happen to abrasion,normally this abrasion will produce noise.
Solution: To ensure the accuracy of machining,adjust the tail wheel shaft by adjusting tensioning device,make it parallel with head shaft,try to reduce the parallelism error.
2.Overload running
In order to increase the capacity,some users don’t follow the standard when they feed material,it lead to the bucket elevator overload running,in this condition,the chain will produce a large engaging force to the chain wheel,when the engaging force is larger than the yield limit of wheel teeth,then the chain wheel will be abnormal abrasion,it will reduce the service life of chain wheel.
Solution:Adjusting the feeding rate,ensure the bucket elevator meet the normal capacity.



3.The chain doesn’t match with the chain wheel
Under the normal condition,it will not happen mismatching if use original chain and chain wheel,when customer change the original chain,they changed the supplier,different supplier have different production standard,it will lead the chain can’t match with the chain wheel,then happen to abrasion.
Solution:Prudently select the chain supplier,it’s more better to select original supplier,because the original supplier is clearly know their chain and chain wheel,under the normal condition,the chain and chain wheel will be work well,if must use the new supplier,it’s necessary to delivery the drawing of chain to the supplier,to ensure the supplier could be OEM production.
4.The problem of chain wheel material
Due to the working character of chain wheel,different condition need different material,if the material is not appropriate,it will lead to the strength of chain wheel is not enough,during the bucket elevator running,the chain will be easily to be wear,and the service life of chain wheel will be reduced.
Solution:Select the proper material for the chain wheel,if necessary,please do thermolize to increase the hardness.
5.The material and sundries fall into the gap between the chain and chain wheel
The working environment of bucket elevator is complex,it can’t be avoided that the material and sundries fall into the gap which between the chain and chain wheel,in this condition,the chain and chain wheel will squeezing the material,the force is mutual,so the material will wear the chain and chain wheel.
Solution:Inspect the damaged bucket timely,and change the damaged bucket in time,clean the material and sundries which between the chain and chain wheel, ensure they can normally matching,to extend the service life of chain wheel.
